using the Job Board

This FAQ has been prepared to help you use the job board like a pro.

The job board is a website used by AHASA members (employers) to advertise their healthcare job vacancies to job seekers. Job seekers can use the job board to search for new job opportunities in their area and profession and apply directly with the employer through the job board.

Many job boards exist, but very few are specifically geared for the healthcare market.

The AHASA Job Board brings healthcare recruitment agencies and healthcare job seekers together by providing job seekers with the resources to manage their career and employers with the tools to promptly fill their key vacancies.

Yes, the job board is a members-only benefit. Non-members may view the general job postings; however, they must be an AHASA member to post job vacancies, access CV’s and the other tools and resources available to members.

No special software is needed. To use the job board, all you need to do is visit the website www.ahasa.org  and  log in with your username and password. We recommend using a browser like Google Chrome for optimal experience.

The AHASA job board is developed through a WordPress CMS framework. WordPress provides much flexibility and is easily accessible from the front and backend by users. It comprises of three parts:

  1. Website Frontend –           Used by Candidates
  2. System Backend –           Used by AHASA Members
  3. System Frontend –           Used by AHASA Members

Each of these parts are explained in more detail in the User Training Manual.

Apart from a once off fee (R500) to set up your main job board profile; as well as a once off for  any provincial branches (R250 each)- there are no other, monthly hidden or additional costs.

There is no cost to posting a vacancy- the job postings are free for AHASA members.

There is currently no limit to the number of vacancies that can be posted. At a later stage, this may be reduced to a maximum number (depending on the functionality of the job board), but for now is unlimited.

Yes. Each agency receives their own Company Profile and own Mini-Job Board from where Candidates can apply for any positions that your company has posted.  All they need to do is navigate to your profile and click on the Apply Now button.

Candidates will be able to search for vacancies on a particular agency Profile or on the AHASA Job Board. They will then be able to apply for the vacancy by providing basic mandatory information e.g. name, surname and contact number. They can also upload a CV, Certificates, SANC/ HPCSA proof as well as include their Agency Employee Number- these are non-mandatory fields.

Thereafter, they will click on the Apply Now button and their information will immediately be submitted to the agency they applied with.

The candidate’s information will ONLY be accessible and sent to the specific agency that advertised the vacancy.

You will need to log in to your AHASA Profile and navigate to the backend. You will then navigate to Job Applications.

Here you will find a list of all the candidates who have applied for your vacancy. You can view, download and edit the applications from the site.

You will also have received an emailed copy of each candidate’s application via the email address specified in your Vacancy Posting (when you uploaded the vacancy). Only Users that have been granted access by your agency will have access to your candidate’s information. This information will not be stored by AHASA or with any other agency.

On the job board page, click on the top-right-hand login bar. Follow the instructions to Register a Profile to complete the process.  Only once approved by the sites developer or higher AHASA administrator will you be provided with a username and password.

Remember, in order to register an account, you will need to be member of AHASA Contact the National Administrator at info@ahasa.org  for information.

Visit the website www.ahasa.org and log in with your username and password. We recommend using a browser like Google Chrome for optimal experience.

Once logged in from the top right menu bar, you would have been redirected to the AHASA Home Page. Navigate to your members page > scroll down until you find your company name and logo then click more info.

You will now be redirected to the members page and at the very top, you will see a dark banner with more functions as well as a toolbar to access your dashboard. Click on the “Dashboard”. A dropdown menu will appear with your company’s name and all the different components which make up the website that will provide access to the job board features.

You need to be logged into the dashboard for your company. Navigate to the “Job Listings” tab and select “Add New”.

This will bring up the job posting template. Fill out the required fields for the job and use the tools to style your text. At this point, you may also upload branded banners, images etc with the following dimensions 2000px 589px.

Once completed, click “Post” when complete.

Once you’ve completed the job posting, it will immediately appear on the job board website for all work-seekers to view.

You will not lose the information you loaded- as long as you have saved it as a draft. Once you’ve saved it as a draft, you can go back to edit and schedule it for when you are ready.

This has to do with screen size and resolution and can easily be rectified by adjusting the  “screen size” in the corner of that block.

Yes, anyone who is logged in as a member with your login details can publish a job posting.

You may create a post as long or as short as you like. Use as much detail as possible so job seekers know exactly what you are looking for.

AHASA does not allow job postings whereby by an employer charges an application or participation fee. In addition, we reserve the right to reject any job posting for any unlawful reason.

AHASA further does not permit any profanity, vulgarity, insults or discriminatory language and reserves the right to delete any vacancies that may bring the organisation or its members into disrepute or prejudice the rights of any users of the site in any way.

Yes, you have the option to edit your company profile using a standard layout. You will be able to edit text styles and move positions.

You can also change the company logo or add a customised job banner. When uploading logo’s or banners, the size limit is 2000px x 589px.

Unfortunately, we only support one active language (English) on a job board at a time.

If your email address or password is not working, please send an email to support@ahasa.org for assistance.

The privacy of your candidate’s information is a high priority. The job board will never share your candidate’s information with anyone. Only the individuals you have selected as Users will receive, view or access any candidate’s information.
