About AHASA

About us Allied Healthcare Association of South (AHASA)

For over 30 years, the Allied Healthcare Association of South Africa (AHASA) has played a key role in strengthening the South African healthcare sector by uniting nursing and healthcare recruitment agencies under one professional banner. In 2010, AHASA adopted a more inclusive name and approach – expanding its reach to represent the broader healthcare employment sector, beyond nursing alone.

Constitution

AHASA’s Constitution outlines our aims, membership criteria, legislative requirements, and operational guidelines. All members are expected to understand and comply with its provisions.

Code of Ethics

The AHASA Code of Ethics  provides clear guidelines for good governance and business practices for all member agencies. It complements our Constitution and individual agency policies. Upon joining, every member signs a Code of Ethics Pledge, affirming their dedication to these principles.

The trust placed in our members by the healthcare community carries a responsibility to act with integrity. We commit to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and ethical conduct.

The reputation of AHASA and its members depends on the ethical behaviour of each individual and organisation affiliated with us. Together, we set a standard of excellence that defines our industry.

Lobbying and Advocacy

As a distinguished member of CAPES, AHASA actively leads lobbying and advocacy efforts within the South African employment sector. We are committed to empowering our members and stakeholders with a comprehensive understanding of the industry while underscoring its significant role in contributing to the national economy.

AHASA aligns with the CAPES Private Employment Agency Charter. This industry pledge promotes best practice standards and is guided by international frameworks, including the International Labour Organization (ILO) conventions. The Charter supports the fight against undeclared work and forced labour, while promoting quality employment and protecting vulnerable workers. It reflects our dedication to a responsible, transparent, and well-functioning labour market in South Africa. About Ahasa – Allied Healthcare Association of South Africa (AHASA)
