Public comment is now open on the Employment Services Amendment Bill [B16–2026]
A significant piece of proposed legislation affecting employment services and the employment of foreign nationals is now open for public comment.
Parliament’s Portfolio Committee on Employment and Labour has invited written submissions on the Employment Services Amendment Bill [B16–2026]. The Bill proposes amendments to the Employment Services Act, including provisions relating to foreign nationals, private employment agencies, labour migration, enforcement and the functions of the Employment Services Board.
Public comment deadline: Friday, 6 November 2026 at 16h00
This is an important opportunity for stakeholders in the healthcare recruitment sector to consider the proposed amendments and provide input on matters that may affect the industry.
AHASA will be engaging
As members of CAPES and as AHASA, we will be preparing an industry submission ahead of the deadline.
We also encourage AHASA members to consider making their own individual submissions.
To assist members, AHASA will prepare a submission template that members can use when providing their input. More information will be shared in the coming week, following the public holidays.
