As 2026 draws to a close, now is the time to ask: could a legal compliance gap expose your agency to unnecessary risk in 2027?
This practical session will address common legal pitfalls facing healthcare staffing and home-based care agencies, from employment and contractor arrangements to client agreements, workplace disputes, liability and regulatory compliance. We will also look at key legislative and regulatory developments from 2026 and what agencies should prepare for in 2027.
The session will explore the deeming provision through a practical case study, tackling a critical question: when a placement becomes deemed employment, who is responsible for disciplinary action and dismissals, the agency or the client?
Why attend? Members will gain practical guidance to help them:
- Identify legal and compliance gaps before they become costly problems.
- Understand the risks surrounding deemed employment and responsibility for disciplinary action and dismissals.
- Review contracts, policies and procedures to better protect their businesses.
- Prepare for 2027 with a practical Legal Compliance Checklist.
Who should attend: Agency Owners, Operations Managers, HR and Recruitment managers
This session is led by Danielle Statham (BCom Law & LLB), who brings 13+ years of post-admission experience in recruitment, employment and commercial law, and currently serves as internal legal consultant to sister association.
